Elliot Travise is a Kent (OH) based sculptor and printmaker. He is an emerging artist studying at Kent State University for a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Expanded Media. Inspired by American Neo-Dada sculpture, as well as the function of still lives, Elliot focuses on object symbolism and materiality. Working mainly in plaster, ceramics, and screen printing, he makes representations of periods of time through relevant objects. His work typically discusses masculinity, the relationship between gender and sexuality, and how objects can replace the figure in work to drive narrative.
